Master teacher licensure legislation

Hello-
I know I heard from some of you at the conference that your state was working on legislation around master teacher licensure, or a master teacher track.
Would it be possible to get copies of that legislation, or at least the general ideas behind the initiative?
Thansk!
Hedy

Hello Hedy,
Ours is built into our Career Lattice Pay Schedule. Do you want that? It is local policy instead of state.
Hi Hedy,
We do not have legislation but it was a recommendation from a statewide Teacher Preparation Advisory Panel (TAP) that looked at licensure and support throughout the state. Because there were so many recommendations, this did not rise to the top of the list and is not an idea that CTA generally supports. Although we of course support leadership development, tying it to licensure raises some serious concerns for us. Here is a link to the report but go to page 34 for the specific recommendation.
